Welcome to Korea

Query? Have you ever wondered what it is like to be a foreigner in Korea? As usual, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” This image can give you a vague idea of the feeling a westerner experiences after stepping off an international flight to Korea.

This photo was taken in the middle of a common city setting in Korea. At first glance I was surprised to see this building but later wondered why in the world any human would select such a color to paint a building. The only logical explanation related to economics. Korea is not a wealthy nation and money is considered more important than air is some situations.  If a building owner we pressed for economic means he may resort to the least expensive pain for his building.  What is the least expensive paint? Usually the least expensive pain in large quantity would be a color that is disliked and hard to market.  Make the lowest selling paint very cheap and someone may buy it like the above building owner.

Behold, we count them happy which endure.--JAMES v. 11.

If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons.--HEB. xii. 7.

Trials must and will befall;

But with humble faith to see

Love inscribed upon them all,

This is happiness to me.

W. COWPER.

Be not afraid of those trials which God may see fit to send upon thee. It

is with the wind and storm of tribulation that God separates the true wheat

from the chaff. Always remember, therefore, that God comes to thee in thy

sorrows, as really as in thy joys. He lays low, and He builds up. Thou wilt

find thyself far from perfection, if thou dost not find God in everything.

M. DE MOLINOS.

God hath provided a sweet and quiet life for His children, could they

improve and use it; a calm and firm conviction in all the storms and

troubles that are about them, however things go, to find content, and be

careful for nothing.

R. LEIGHTON.

My Deer

Like imaging a UFO the sight of wild life in Korea is rare. I caught a photo of a small mountain dear as I walked up a local mountain near my current earthly location on Jeju Island Korea...not far from the above building. It may be hard to see but the brown image in the middle is a deer.
