The Dream

It Begins In

Cleansing Wave

Beautiful dreams: They are rare but sometimes there are dreams so vivid and unique that they catch your attention and remain with you after you wake. In this particular dream there was a world that was filled with mountains extending out of a great ocean. Someone stood beside me who was kind, compassionate but full of a kind of power that defied my comprehension.

This person told me that even though this world appeared beautiful there was something wrong that my eyes could not perceive. He explained that it was necessary that this world be cleansed even to the very summit of every mountain.

As I stood there looking over the great ocean of green my companion waved his hand and the waters of the ocean began to move back and forth like water in a bowl. Each time the waters rushed forward they climbed higher up the mountains to where the snow capped summits covered the tops.

The ocean waters receded down off the mountain and began to rush upwards through the woods where we stood and as with the former sight they receded down the mountain upon where we stood and began to rush with great fury back towards the snow capped summits of the mountain peaks on the other side of the small sea.

The waters of the sea rush towards the mountains with incomprehensible fury climbing to the very summits in a relentless surge that engulfed the mountain tops melting the snow caps and filling ever hidden cave. The rush of waters continued until ever trace of snow trees and soil where stripped from the surface.

The waters eventually their maximum forward rush and then came to rest for a moment before they gathered behind the distant now barren mountains in a towering crystalline green wave poised to begin its return rush to the very mountain tops where we stood.

A great fear filled my heart as I knew that this giant mountain of water was preparing for its return to crash over the very mountains upon where we stood. My companion turned to me in complete peace and tranquility and said, “Come it is time for us to leave this place.”  In that moment I woke.

from the days when

Meaning was Conveyed Gracefully

And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.--GAL. vi. 16.

Lord, I have given my life to Thee,
And every day and hour is Thine,--
What Thou appointest let them be;
Thy will is better, Lord, than mine.

A. WARNER.

Begin at once; before you venture away from this quiet moment, ask your King to take you wholly into His service, and place all the hours of this day quite simply at His disposal, and ask Him to make and keep you _ready_ to do just exactly what He appoints. Never mind about to-morrow; one day at a time is enough. Try it to-day, and see if it is not a day of strange,
almost curious peace, so sweet that you will be only too thankful, when to-morrow comes, to ask Him to take it also,--till it will become a blessed habit to hold yourself simply and "wholly at Thy commandment for _any_ manner of service." The "whatsoever" is not necessarily active work. It may be waiting (whether half an hour or half a life-time), learning,
suffering, sitting still. But shall we be less ready for these, if any of them are His appointments for to-day? Let us ask Him to prepare us for all that He is preparing for us.
