"Perfect Actions"

Friends on World Adventures

Dejan Glavnik is a 33 year old adventure enthusiast currently on a bicycle trip around the world. I met a couple at this Asian hostel on Jeju Island Korea who suggested that I join www.CouchSurfing.com which I did.

It wasn’t long before Dejan made contact inquiring about staying for a while as he wanted to tour this beautiful island where I have been living for so many years. I guess this is my chance to share a tiny bit of what I have learned during my 10 year adventure on Jeju Island.

After reflecting a bit, I realized that at his age I was doing the same thing but in a different manner.  I was involved in a world tour by backpack on foot never expecting that it would last longer than 10 years. Saw the world, slept in the woods and learned how to make every chance to touch fresh clean mountain water a chance to make a good meal and get a good bath.

Now at this juncture in life I find all my adventure gear is ready to be placed on a ship in South Korea as I ready myself for the final return. I guess at this point I have one dream and that is to sail my kayak on a quiet lake and share the experience of a life time with those who will affect the lives of the children who will determine the future of this world.

I now realize that Dejan is doing what I was doing when I was his age; however he is doing his journey in style by bike where I was traveling by foot with backpack.

There are nine hours left before he arrives.  Finding food will be a mutual adventure.

English Lessons

from the days when

Meaning was Conveyed Gracefully

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance.--GAL. v. 22, 23.

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples--JOHN xv. 8.

O Breath from out the Eternal Silence! blow
Softly upon our spirits' barren ground;
The precious fulness of our God bestow,
That fruits of faith, love, reverence may abound.

G. TERSTEEGEN.

Is it possible we should be ignorant whether we feel tempers contrary to love or no?--whether we rejoice always, or are burdened and bowed down with sorrow?--whether we have a praying, or a dead, lifeless spirit?--whether we can praise God, and be resigned in all trials, or feel murmurings, fretfulness, and impatience under them?--is it not easy to know if we feel anger at provocations, or whether we feel our tempers mild, gentle, peaceable, and easy to be entreated, or feel stubbornness, self-will, and pride? whether we have slavish fears, or are possessed of that perfect love which casteth out all fear that hath torment?
