What's My Country Like
Perhaps the best way to take care of things is to write a detailed account of where I'm from with all its wonder, beauty and love, before I go back. I have heard that people in your country have a saying something about you can lead a horse to a place where it can drink water but you can't force it to drink the water. I will make a list here of simple comparisons to be detailed as a way to begin a parting note. I feel so sorry for those who live in your land but there is a crimson river between you and where I am; if you step into this river and sink into it's miraculous flow you will emerge to find yourself on the shore of where I am.
Here begins the list of what is so different about my wonderful land and your very country:
Family
Children
Physical fitness
Money
Education
Society
Relationships
Diet
Environmental Management
Wildlife Respect
This list in connection with the former page will be a guide for clearing my conscience so I won't have to look back over my shoulder on a trip without return.
Just finish a wonder deep night cross country ski trip at -5F through the woods and around the lake that is recognizable within the memories associate with the events more than 11 years old. The sky was perfectly black with only star light and the high intensity head light I was using. After about 30 minutes hands warmed up and sweat.made the evening feel must more comfortable. Reached for the water bottle on the small hip page and found it frozen shut as memories confirm. It took some work to twist and break the ice that jammed it closed but finally it broke open and refreshing water with lots of ice crystals made it a refreshing drink in the frosty air.
Memories bring back the realization that the trail was originally navigated by using a halogen head light which is still being used as a mount for the more powerful diode light at this time. Memories show that the trip wasn't undertaken without back up bulbs and batteries for the prospects of getting stranded on the totally dark trails in subzero temperatures may be hazardous. Now the trail is lit with a single powerful lithium ion powered light brought from my home land. |
