Silence Before The Field

Awesome silence surrounds me as my inner eyes behold the great field stretching out before me with borders in the stars. It has taken the journey of millennia to reach the edge of this field so beautiful. The wondrous flux grows up straight here and waves softly in the solar winds. These days the winds have been gentle and the flux which grows up out of the ground seems wanting for a good strong wind to blow through setting free the sons of men weary after many years of waiting.

I had been wondering about the reason for the inductive loss of strength experienced after working among the newly forming stars whose smiles and charm brings cheer to my heart; they too are captive to the magnetic pull that confines them to the field; yet just above their heads towers the gently undulating strands of flux holding them to this world. It is unfortunate that few stop to look up the flux that grows so straight in these arctic fields; there is no other place on earth where people can touch the flux and climb up the strands that reach out to the Sun.

This field of flux with it mysterious beauty appears as a finely woven web which forms a cocoon around the earth and all people are caught within its tightly woven confines; only at the north and south sides of the field is there a gateway which allows entry and departure from the otherwise inescapable prison which surrounds many of the beautiful places in between on this planet. The plan of design is so perfect; between the two gates lay so many warm and comfortable womb like lands with the nurturing character of a mother but there are places in the field where the flux grows up straight from the ground making it possible to climb up to the stars but this land is protected by extremes of cold and darkness where life and death depend upon being active and perfectly attuned to nature to keep your body from freezing.

Yes, the extremes of the arctic cold and desolation form the formidable guardians of the flux fields; few there be who can wander among the slender lines of flux that grow up so tall and straight. The lure of warmth and comfort keeps intruders busy maintaining their little jails of south land comfort. In the hearts of the men who come to to this land are a few who long for the vast open lonely places under the glow of life set free by the Sun when the showers of solar fire slide down the strands of beautiful flux making the invisible a sight that all eyes can see.

from the days when

Meaning Was Conveyed Gracefully

The God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.--I PET. v. 10.

Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be faint-hearted.--ISA. vii. 4.

How shall thou bear the cross that now
So dread a weight appears?
Keep quietly to God, and think
Upon the Eternal Years.

F. W. FABER

God forgive them that raise an ill report upon the sweet cross of Christ; it is but our weak and dim eyes, that look but to the black side, that makes us mistake; those that can take that crabbed tree handsomely upon their backs, and fasten it on cannily, shall find it such a burden as wings unto a bird, or sails to a ship.

S. RUTHERFORD.

Blessed is any weight, however overwhelming, which God has been so good as to fasten with His own hand upon our shoulders.

F. W. FABER.

We cannot say this or that trouble shall not befall, yet we may, by help of the Spirit, say, nothing that doth befall shall make me do that which is unworthy of a Christian.

R. SIBBES.
